Sinus floor elevation
| In the area of the maxillary lateral teeth, there is often inadequate vertical bone available for safely anchoring implants of the required minimum length of 10 mm. However, If 4-5 mm of bone in the floor of the maxillary sinus is available for secure implant stabilization, the implantation can be done simultaneously with an elevation of the maxillary sinus mucosa. The missing bone is then generally replaced with a mixture of autogenous bone and bone replacement material. |
