Bone Condensing & Spreading

  Bone Condensing und Spreading
Bone condensing and spreading comprise the nonablative, congruent implant bed preparation with densification of the bone (improvement of the bone quality) in the bone-implant interface.
The bone is gently prepared for the implant using osteotomes and bone spreaders.
This surgical technique is used with very narrow mandibular ridges, so that an additional operation to augment the mandibular ridge before the implantation is not necessary.
This method protects the existing bone, as no valuable bone is lost, in contrast to drilling procedures.
