Labial Frenulum Corrections
Corrections of the labial, buccal and lingual frenula are most frequently required when these cause functional or esthetic problems.
Deep-set frenula can lead to gingival degeneration in dentate patients. In prosthesis wearers, they can cause difficulty with prosthesis stability, as the expansion of the prosthesis is prevented.
These frenula can be shortened in a brief, minimally invasive operation.
The conventional methods of plastic surgery for soft tissue such as V-Y plasty, Z-plasty and transposition flap are used in such cases.
