Functional diagnostics

Esthetics follow function!

The mandibular joint is subject to stress comparable to the stress put on the joints of a
high-performance athlete.
Jaw problems are a common occurrence in our achievement-oriented society, including
cracking, tooth grinding, pain when moving the jaw and muscle tension in the facial and neck regions.
Mandibular problems left untreated can cause lasting damage to the joint and to the teeth.
After an instrumental functional analysis, occlusal splints worn at night, the smoothing of troublesome occlusal contacts and building up of important functional surfaces on the teeth, the exacerbation of these symptoms can be counteracted and stopped.
The objective of our treatment is the abilityto move the lower jaw freely.
After treatment, chewing will be significantly more comfortable for the patient. Moreover, significant esthetic and organic dental damage (ground-down teeth) is prevented.

No compromises with regard to occlusion - 3D measurement of temporomandibular configuration using ultrasound

The long-term success of treatment, particularly in extensive implant-based prosthetic rehabilitation, depends on the stress-free occlusion of the tooth replacements.
Thus, in our practice, three-dimensional ultrasound measurement of the mandibular movements is carried out before complex rehabilitation is started.
