Surgical removal of cysts and tumors
| A thorough examination is required to detect tumorous diseases and to differentiate them from infections. In doubtful cases, specialists must always be consulted. Smaller tumors are completely removed and sent to the pathology department for examination. Removal is usually done in a smaller operation under local anesthesia. A cyst is a diseased cavity which slowly crowds out healthy structures and ultimately destroys them. Teeth and bones can be lost. For this reason, cysts are generally removed. Larger tumours and cysts are removed in our practice under analgesic sedation (deep sleep with sedative injection) or under full anesthesia. |
